Hare and Hound

St Louis hosts one of the largest hot air balloon festivals in the country. On a Saturday afternoon in September, it draws upwards of 100,000 people each year to witness the "Hare and Hound" race. Spectators can watch "up front and personally" the filling of these balloons and the launch. The race is held in Forest park, which is the home of the 1904 World's Fair. It is just a good time mingling with the masses over picnic lunches and music and plenty of hot air.

The bacground was created with a sky photo of mine
and a texture from Kim Klassen
with a soft light blending mode and reduced opacity.

Boys and Bears Squared

I am reliving all of these memories form preschool days ...way back in the day.
How much fun to see these babes and bears. So many mantle pictures. It always seemed like such a good perch.

Summertime and the Living is Easy

I have that song stuck in my head...
And I am remembering the heat and humidity of St Louis on those summer days.

If I sing it enough, I'm thinking that it just might show up here.
We are totally sick of all this rain.

Songs Remembered

Remembering how important music was to you, even before you could talk. If you heard one of your favorites,it stopped you in your tracks. This was an instant replay of one such moment.

A Funny Story Remembered

I was reminiscing with my son today about my favorite Easter tale. It involved him and is told here.

Happy Easter, one and all.
And, may the sun shine!

Chihuly Revisited

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Missouri Botanical Garden when the Chihuly glass was mingled with the garden plants. It was spectacular. Here is a piece of the show.
